I got into video editing because my family had converted our old 8mm cines to digital files and needed someone to write them to DVD's.

I figured that my sound conversion skills could, at least in part, transfer into other media as well. That ended up being another long learning curve which ended in a 3-disc box set of all or our precious memories which every cousin, aunt and uncle now has sitting on their bookshelf. Once again I realised that this was a service that many other people would appreciate as well. Since then, the video side has become the single most popular component of my conversion services. I have converted in excess of 5000 hours of family memories, old videos and various other video files to DVD. I've branched out into slide shows for birthdays and several other video services. I even have a working Betamax machine! It is rewarding to bring so many memories to life again.
